Charge for the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee
The Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ is dedicated to promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, faculty, and staff. The committee’s primary mission is to reduce the risks associated with alcohol and drug use through comprehensive education, policy guidance, prevention programs, and support services.
Responsibilities:
1. Policy Development and Review: Establish and periodically review campus policies on alcohol and drug use, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA).
2. Education and Awareness Programs: Develop and promote educational initiatives to increase awareness about the risks of substance misuse. This includes workshops, events, and ongoing outreach to foster a culture of well-being and informed decision-making across campus.
3. Support and Intervention Resources: Ensure that Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, faculty, and staff have access to confidential, supportive resources for substance use concerns, including counseling, recovery programs, and intervention services.
4. Research and Data Analysis: Conduct research and analyze data to identify trends in substance use, assess the effectiveness of current policies and programs, and guide data-driven decision-making for future initiatives.
5. Community and Campus Partnerships: Foster collaboration with local health organizations, law enforcement, and community stakeholders to strengthen the network of resources and support available for addressing substance-related issues.
6. Risk Management and Compliance: Provide oversight to maintain a compliant and safe campus environment that supports the university’s commitment to health and safety.
