Personal Summary
Yes! I am "Dr. Pepper," but there is no relation and most call me "Ali." For the last 20 years, I have been part of the Griz family in various roles, such as a Psychology graduate student, a tenured-faculty member in Psychology at Missoula College, a researcher, a trainer, and a counselor. For the last 2'ish years, my efforts have focused on the latter two. The trainings delivered to campus and the community are centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Through my work as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Candidate (PCLC), I aim to provide culturally-affirming therapy and wholistic care to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ with a range of mental health concerns. I specialize in trauma-informed approaches when working with those who have experienced dating or domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, or other forms of identity-based harm. I also work with Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ navigating life transitions, experiencing relationship concerns, or questioning their identity. I have experience providing evidenced-based therapy for those with depression, anxiety, and disordered eating. I draw from Cognitive-Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness interventions but my foundation is the “client-centered” approach: meeting the client where they are, no matter who they are, to support their wellbeing and empower their agency.
