Personal Summary
I believe we each are experts in our own lives, though we at times lose ourselves in the stress of everyday life. This can look like unexpected loss, relationship turmoil or feeling isolated, or simply a mood or pattern of behavior we can't seem to shake. Often this stress is handled well, but occasionally we experience unwanted thoughts, memories, or destructive habits, and feel these negatively affecting our relationships, jobs and academic performance, and ideas of ourselves. Counseling is a chance to build a relationship with ourselves that is honest and kind, as well as work toward personal goals in a confidential space. I am honored to meet you wherever you find yourself on this journey of living, and respect your unique life’s story.
I utilize a Strengths-Based, trauma-informed approach combined with practical everyday tools from the theories of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I've completed a 200-hr yoga teacher training; and incorporate movement, body awareness, self-image, and mindfulness practice as well. As a former collegiate athlete, I have a passion for supporting our student athletes, and recognize the unique circumstances and stressors associated with this population. I also have experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence/domestic violence and sexual assault, and offer compassion, patience, and support along your unique timeline of healing.
