Personal Summary
My name is Kyle, and I am a graduate student in the Department of Counseling and an intern at Curry Health Center. As a counselor, I help you hold whatever is on your heart and mind. Together, we explore, recognize, and care for all that’s present–the joy and sorrow, the pleasure and pain, the gain and loss. With patience and present-moment awareness, we collaborate to uproot painful patterns and understand what interferes with greater connection, ease, and well-being.
My approach to counseling is relational and client-centered. This involves following your curiosity and focusing on emotions, defenses, past experiences, relationships, and, at times, the therapeutic relationship itself. I have experience working with clients from a variety of backgrounds and presenting concerns and especially enjoy working with clients in emerging adulthood. Each client’s goals and treatment are tailored to their individuality. I’m continually inspired by the capacity we have to help ourselves and each other.
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, hosting a radio show, reading, hiking, and backpacking. I also love taking my 8.5 lb Maltese, Zeus, for walks.
