Personal Summary
Dr. Godwin Gyimah is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University, West Lafayette, where he studied Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Social Studies Education. Godwin is originally from Ghana, West Africa. He teaches Social Studies Methods and Education Across Cultures at the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. He has worked as an instructor/teaching assistant, a research assistant, and a teacher candidates’ teaching supervisor for over two years. His research focuses on civics education, history education, Charter schools as the panacea for civics education, culturally responsive pedagogy, multicultural education, and race and racism in schools. He previously worked with a team of nine faculty members from Purdue University and North Carolina State University on Project RISE, a US Department of Education-funded project. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Social Studies Research, Journal of Social Studies Education, and Journal of School Choice.
Dr. Gyimah is particularly interested in international education, multicultural education, citizenship education, diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
During his free time, he loves to watch soccer, listen to music, or watch movies.
