Counseling Professor Receives $3 Million Grant to Support School Counselors

Dr. Kirsten Murray, a UM professor in the Department of Counseling, and MSU partners, Rebecca Koltz and Jayne Downey, received a US Department of Education Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant to support school counselors.
The $3 million grant will be used to recruit and pay the tuition for school counselors in training in the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education's online program, serving high-needs, rural Montana schools over the next five years.
Only 20 of these grants are awarded across the nation.
