Personal Summary
I am a MS student in the Millspaugh lab working on a project focused on Harlequin Ducks in Western Montana and Nothern Idaho. My project has two main components, how do we find them and where are they. We are investigating non-invasive survey methods for detecting them on fast moving mountain streams and as well as working on building a predictive occupancy model of where they may be in the region. This work is part of a broader region wide monitoring effort that takes place between Glacier National Park, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, US Forest Service, Idaho Fish and Game, Wyoming Game and Fish, Biologist in Alberta, and the Montana Natural Heritage Program.
