What is in Included in Your Room
All Residence Halls rooms are equipped with:
- Standard twin-size bed (in all buildings except Turner Hall and Knowles Hall, which have extra-long beds)
- Desk
- Dresser
- Closet
- Chair
- Bookshelf
- Overhead lights
- Network connection
- Wastebasket
- Window coverings
- Coinless washers and dryers available in the laundry room
Pantzer Hall suites' common living area also has a refrigerator, microwave, large storage closet, a furnished living room, and two bathrooms. Miller Hall pods also have a refrigerator, microwave, and a living room furnished with a two-seat sofa and sofa table. Miller Hall singles also have a refrigerator and microwave.
Things to Bring from Home
Students should review the UM Housing Student Handbook found on the Policies page prior to packing.
Students should bring:
- Personal care items, toiletry basket, shower shoes
- Standard twin-size sheets (in all buildings except Turner Hall and Knowles Hall , which have extra-long beds), blankets, pillow, mattress pad
- Clothes hangers
- Bath towels
- School supplies
- Desk study lamp
- Laundry basket or bag, laundry detergent
Student could bring:
- Television
- Radio
- Throw rugs
- Pictures/posters
- Bathrobe
- Desk organizer
- Small fan
- Microwave
- Refrigerator (under 4.0 cubic feet space)
Things to Leave at Home
The following items are not allowed in the Residence Halls:
- Barbecues and grills
- Candles and incense
- Crockpots
- Electric fryers
- Electric grills and sandwich makers/presses
- Electric woks
- Fog, smoke, and haze machines
- Hookahs, hookah smoking accessories, e-cigarettes, vaporizers
- Hot plates
- Hoverboards, Swagways, IO Hawks, Skywalkers and similar devices
- Pets (other than fish in a tank 10 gallons or less)
- Portable space heaters
- Pressure cookers and instant pots
- Rice cookers
- Toasters and toaster ovens
- Air conditioners are not allowed in the residence halls unless approved by Office for Disability Equity.
