General Information
An Independent Field Placement (IFP) is one not offered by the Law School, proposed by a student, and approved by the faculty. The placement must meet all Clinic Program criteria and guidelines. Students seeking an IFP are responsible for securing a faculty member willing to supervise the placement. Students interested in an IFP should see Clinic Manager Geri Sturgill, then review and complete the Independent Field Placement Application Packet. Completed Independent Field Placement applications (including student application, supervising attorney application, and three letters of recommendation) should be submitted to Geri Sturgill no later than February 15 to ensure ample time for review and approval. The deadline for approval is March 1 for the summer and next academic year. Late submissions will not be accepted.
