Professor Gagliardi Receives Presidential Faculty Award
Professor Elaine Gagliardi of the Blewett School of Law has been awarded the 2017 George M. Dennison Presidential Faculty Award for Distinguished Accomplishment. The award is given to a faculty member whose accomplishments have brought significant recognition to the University at the regional and national levels.

Negotiations Team Finishes Second in the Nation
The Alexander Blewett III School of Law ABA Negotiation Competition Team advanced to the final round of the American Bar Association National Negotiation Competition in Chicago, Illinois in early February. The team finished in second place and now awaits an invitation to the International Negotiation Competition to be held in Oslo, Norway in July.

Myers '90 Receives Sticht Disability Achievement Award
Edward L. Myers III, a 1990 graduate of the School of Law, recently received the Hon. John R. Sticht Disability Achievement Award from the State Bar of Arizona for his work in disability civil rights law. The Sticht Award recognizes either a person or group in the legal profession who furthers the goals of access to justice and the full participation for people with disabilities in the legal profession and justice system or a person with disability who has demonstrated exceptional depth of inner strength, courage in the face of adversity, and tenacity of purpose.

In Memoriam
Although not a graduate of Montana's law school, was a good friend to the School of Law and a trailblazer in the Montana bar, serving as the first female Chief Justice of the Montana Supreme Court.
was a longtime friend and donor to the School of Law, including contributing generously to the building campaign and the Blewett Room, which houses the Montana Law Review. Her late husband Alex, son Zander, and grandsons Drew and Anders all graduated from the School of Law, which is now named for Zander. A memorial service for Fern Blewett will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Great Falls, MT.

Don't Miss Law Week 2017
The annual law week celebration is April 3-7, 2017. Events include lunch-hour lectures and panels Monday through Thursday, the Jones Tamm Lecture and Reception Wednesday evening, and the Montana Supreme Court Oral Argument Friday morning. Event details will be available on the School of Law as they become available.
