NALSA and Cultural Heritage Moot Court Teams Compete in National Competitions
Students from Alexander Blewett III School of Law recently competed in both the 25th Annual National Native American Law Student Association (NNALSA) Moot Court Competition and the National Cultural Heritage Law Moot Court Competition. In both competitions, ֱ tackled complex issues of federal Indian law and faced challenging questions from nationally-renowned experts and judges.

Former U.S. Secretary of Defense to Deliver Judicial Lecture at UM
Former United States Secretary of Defense Charles “Chuck” Hagel will deliver the 2017 Judge William B. Jones and Judge Edward A. Tamm Judicial Lecture at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the George and Jane Dennison Theater at the ֱ. A reception will follow at the Alexander Blewett III School of Law.

Montana Supreme Court to Hear Oral Argument at UM
All campus and community members are invited to attend the annual Montana Supreme Court oral argument on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Dennison Theatre. An introduction to the oral argument begins at 9:00 a.m., and the oral argument begins at 9:30 a.m. Parking will be available in Lot P on the UM campus free of charge. Clinic Program to Celebrate 50 Years of Clinical Legal Education at Evening with NALSA
In the Fall 2016 edition of the Montana Barrister, we highlighted the fifty-year history of the clinic program at the School of Law. A celebration of the clinic program will be held during Indian Law Week's Evening with NALSA event on Thursday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the School of Law Atrium. All community members are invited to attend this awards ceremony and silent auction, with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Tickets are $5 pre-sale at the School of Law or $10 at the door.

New Scholarship Honors Former Montana Bankruptcy Judges
The Bankruptcy Judges' Scholarship was created in honor of Judge Ralph B. Kirscher and Judge John L. Peterson, former Chief Bankruptcy Judges for the District of Montana. The scholarship will be awarded to a law student(s) with an expressed interest in bankruptcy law, debtor-creditor law, corporate turnaround and related topics.
