Dear Alumni and Friends of the Law School,
Our return to traditions has made for a busy fall. One of those traditions, the fall Alumni and Friends Tailgate takes place this Saturday, November 5th and I hope you will join us from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (use the east entrance through the Garlington, Lohn, and Robinson Plaza). This coming weekend, the Student Bar Association hosts the Barrister’s Ball and the law school invites donors and scholarship recipients for the Scholarship Celebration. Bertha plans to make the trip to the Law Building from Forestry. It is an exciting time to be back in the building.

Vote Early Day 2022
Dr. Christina Barsky collaborated with the Missoula County Elections Office to host this year's Vote Early Day 2022. County election officials set up shop in the law school to provide voter services to anyone stopping by. This non-partisan event issued 125 ballots and accepted 131 ballots.
Barristers' Ball 2022
This year's Barristers' Ball takes place on Friday, November 4th. Alumni and local firms are encouraged to join the Student Bar Association during the cocktail hour taking place from 7-8 p.m. to this formal event.

Student Nick Mills Lands White House Internship Through UM's "4+1" Masters of Public Administration Program
Missoula native Nick Mills has a passion for the outdoors and wildlife that runs as deep as the Rattlesnake Wilderness. He knew he wanted the right college to pursue his interests, and he didn’t have to look too far.
“I chose to stay in Missoula because of the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥’s world-class wildlife biology program. I realized I wanted to protect the areas I loved,” said Mills. “Then I started taking policy classes with Martin Nie, and the 4+1 MPA program piqued my interest. 2022 Pro Bono Fair a Success
Over 17 firms turned out for this year's Pro Bono Fair. This hour-long event pairs law Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ with pro bono opportunities throughout the state. We are grateful to the organizations who tabled and the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ who signed up.

Professor Zellmer on the Holland Lake Lodge Expansion
Sandra B. Zellmer spoke with the Missoulian regarding the environmental impact of a proposed resort expansion.
Prof. Zellmer was also appointed to the Natural Resources Law Teachers’ Committee of the Foundation for Natural Resources & Energy Law for a 4-year term (2022-2026).
Prof. Zellmer will publish an article in the Arizona State Law Journal with co-author Robert Glicksman (GWU): Sandra B. Zellmer & Robert L. Professor Craig Cowie Featured on A New Angle Montana Public Radio aired a piece about the Marquez litigation featuring Prof. Cowie's expertise. Hear his thoughts on the .
Prof. Cowie guest-lectured for a class in the School of Social Work where he presented on recent Indian law cases in the U.S. Supreme Court. He also provided a CLE presentation for the Western Montana Bar Association on the last and upcoming terms in the U.S. Supreme Court.
