As the first hints of spring appear on campus, I want to express my appreciation to each of you for the important roles you play at UM. Together, we are changing lives and .
To recognize you – UM’s exceptional employees – and acknowledge our collective efforts this academic year, please mark your calendars and join me at these upcoming events:
- By 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3: Nominate colleagues for the . With 18 individual awards and one team award, there are numerous ways to recognize and celebrate our many co-workers who go the extra mile.
- Friday, April 25: Celebrate the first day of UM’s newest tradition, “Spring Stretch,” by attending (or for) the and its associated events. More information about “Spring Stretch,” which will include numerous events from April 25 to May 10, is forthcoming.
- Monday, April 28: Week of Excellence begins! for details on the series of events that make up Week of Excellence, including information about Stress Less events open to employees that week.
- Wednesday, April 30: All employees are invited to the from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the UC Ballroom. I’ll present a campus update before we recognize our 2025 Week of Excellence Employee Award winners, new retirees and employees celebrating longevity milestones.
- Wednesday, April 30: Organized by the UM Advocates, features free activities for employees and Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, including a Kindness Fair with . I encourage you to write a few notes of gratitude to colleagues, or simply tell them what you appreciate about them, on Share Kindness Day.
- Thursday, May 1: Visit the Montana Museum of Art and Culture Employee Open House between 12-6 p.m. to explore the and receive free swag. A special docent tour of the museum is scheduled for 2 p.m.
- Sunday, May 4: Join Monte at Glacier Ice Rink from 2-3 p.m. for the . At this special event for UM employees, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, and our families, the first 350 people to arrive will receive free admission, and the first 100 will get free skate rentals.
