INDIGENOUS RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES AND FORMAL OUTCOME EVALUATION OF HEALTHCARE INTERVENTIONS-Indigenous Research Methodologies (IRMs) are designated approaches and procedures for conducting research that reflect long-subjugated Indigenous “ways of knowing.” First, I consider Ten Postulates of IRMs. Second, I highlight several characteristics of IRMs. Third, I suggest that IRMs preserve the features of the oral tradition in the health sciences. Finally, I propose an empirical project that may illuminate the potential of IRMs to expand reigning conceptions of intervention science. |
