Personal Summary
Dr. Jane Reynolds (she/her) is an Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the VOICES Lab in the School of Speech, Language, Hearing, & Occupational Sciences at Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. She has been a medical Speech-Language Pathologist since 2015 working in hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, and community and university clinics. Dr. Reynolds specializes in the assessment and treatment of voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders and practices as an SLP at Rocky Mountain Ear, Nose, and Throat where she also provides clinical supervision to graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ from the UM SLHOS program. She conducts research related to behavioral cough suppression therapy, an evidnece-based and highly efficacious treatment for refractory chronic cough. As a professor she is passionate about infusing her clinical expertise into the classroom environment and providing hands-on learning opportunities for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ to hone their critical thinking skills. Dr. Reynolds and her husband Dr. Daniel Salois of Counselor Education at UM are expecting their first child in December 2024 and enjoy spending time outdoors with their mini aussiedoodle, Pazu.

Research Interests
My research goals reflect my long-term commitment to improving quality-of-life for patients living with refractory chronic cough by 1) working to improve access to behavioral cough suppression therapy (e.g., improve understanding of mechanisms behind cough hypersensitivity syndrome and understand and address barriers to access such as lack of trained SLPs in rural areas) and 2) leveraging technology to enhance the efficacy of behavioral cough suppression therapy (e.g., through online and app-based delivery, and wearable cough frequency monitoring).
