The Indigenous First Year Experience is for first-time freshman who identify as Native American Indian/Alaska Native and are enrolled in the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ in the Fall 2011 semester.
The main focuses of this program are to support first year Indigenous Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ to successfully transition to the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ (UM)by:
- Immersing them with cultural enrichment and student-focused activities as part of the Native Griz family
- Fostering their relationships with critical points of contact for student and academic support on campus
- Year-long of experiences and activities that help them connect to what Missoula has to offer
- Engaging in a cohort with other first-time American Indian/Alaska Native freshman through a seminar course and a diversity of experiences/activities designed to help support Ñý¼§Ö±²¥’ navigation through their first year of college
