Navigating academics, research, and university life can be exciting, overwhelming, and difficult. While CIS tries to provide for Indigenous STEM student needs, we realize that our scope is limited and Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ might need additional support. Below are campus and community resources including financial assistance, scholarships, food insecurity aid, and many other programs.
Student Support

UM's Financial Aid Office is your one-stop resource for help paying for college. From understanding all the different types of financial assistance available to submitting your FAFSA and applying for student loans and scholarships, they can help you navigate the process.

You can participate in one-on-one financial counseling sessions as well as regularly scheduled workshops on a range of topics such as FAFSA, loans, budgeting, savings, and more.

The Scholarship Portal offers Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ one centralized general application, regardless of a their major or program of study.

The purpose of the UM Food Pantry is to support university Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ facing food insecurity. The Food Pantry is open Monday/Wednesday 10am-3pm, Tuesday/Thursday 4-6:00pm, and Saturday 11am-3pm.

Bear Necessities provides support for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ living through or on the edge of basic needs insecurity.

TRIO offers a plethora of support to UM Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ including academic advising, tutoring, financial aid, book and technology loan programs, and peer mentoring.

AISS supports Indigenous Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ in their transition, achievement, and success at UM by providing services and programs established through collaborative partnerships with various campus and Missoula community members.

IESS works directly with underrepresented Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ to both lift up and give strength to their events and ideas, as well as address any concerns or issues Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ may have with the University, their peers, or the Missoula community.

IRSE is dedicated to the advancement of Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, and First Nation Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ in STEM disciplines and professions. They offer multiple programs for Indigenous Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ including the Sloan Scholars Program.

AISES offers internships, professional development and career resources, national and regional conferences, leadership development summits, and other STEM-focused programming.
