Purpose of IMP
Each fall semester, the Office of Organizational Learning and Development's (OOLD) professional development series offers the Indigenous Mentoring Program (IMP). This two-part workshop is available to faculty, graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, administrators, and staff who currently mentor, or are interested in mentoring, Indigenous Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. Attendees engage in facilitated sessions with a number of presenters who will share knowledge about cultural humility, establishing and sustaining healthy mentor-mentee relationships, and campus and community-wide services and programs available for Indigenous Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. The workshop will also focus on Indigenous research methodologies, best practices for disseminating research in Native communities, and Indigenous mentoring practices.

Jennifer Harrington, Native American Natural Resource Program Director, W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation; and Maegan Rides At The Door, Executive Director, , will lead a two-part workshop series for faculty, graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, administrators and staff who currently mentor, or who are interested in mentoring, American Indian/Alaska Native Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. Attendees will engage in facilitated sessions with a number of presenters and panelists who will share knowledge about:
- cultural humility,
- Indigenizing curriculum,
- how bystanders can interrupt acts of bias
- establishing and sustaining healthy mentor-mentee relationships.

Spring Semester Opportunities
CIS and OOLD plan to offer additional workshops in the spring semester of each academic year that will dive deeper into one of the important topics covered in the IMP. These topics will likely rotate each spring so Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ and employees are offered multiple opportunities to expand their knowledge on various topics relevant to our Indigenous student body.
