A scribe writes down or records the test taker’s responses.
A scribe can:
- Write down the exact, word for word responses of the test taker.
- Confirm the test taker’s response for accuracy before writing down.
- Write down an outline as directed by the test taker.
- Type the test taker’s answers or response into a computer.
- Read the answer aloud and allow the test taker to dictate revisions.
A scribe cannot:
- Suggest what to say for a better response.
- Suggest how to structure the test taker’s responses.
- Provide definition of words.
- Select better words for the test taker.
