Auxiliary aids and services
Auxiliary aids and services are designed to ensure effective communication for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ with disabilities. Examples of auxiliary aids and services include:
- amanuenses, readers, or scribes in the classroom
- interpreters
- captioning
- readers for tests
- scribes for tests
- note-takers
- proofreaders
ODE honors the reasonable preferences of Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ in deciding which aids and services to apply. While ODE consultants authorize auxiliary aids and services, management and application responsibilities rest with Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. This way, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ can maintain their autonomy in using their auxiliary aids.
