The PEAS Farm is a community, neighborhood farm situated just two miles north of UM’s campus. In addition to the UM PEAS Farm internships, the farm hosts Garden City Harvest’s Youth Harvest Program and Farm to School Program. The 10-acre farm site features annual vegetable fields, an orchard, a native plants garden, a seed garden, a Four Sisters’ garden, a greenhouse and hoop houses, a root cellar, a barn, pigs, bees, and chickens.
The PEAS Farm is open to the public during daytime hours in the growing season. The site is also available for UM Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ and faculty to use as a living laboratory, outdoor classroom, and field trip site.
University Field Trips
For many classes at the University - from the humanities to the sciences - the PEAS Farm is an outdoor classroom and living laboratory available for student exploration. UM faculty are encouraged to bring their classes to the PEAS Farm for a field trip or farm tour. Visits to the farm may either be instructor-led or guided by PEAS Farm Lecturer, Caroline Stephens.
Farm-to-School (K-12)
The PEAS Farm is a community farm managed by Garden City Harvest, which runs a Farm to School program for Missoula’s K-12 Ñý¼§Ö±²¥. This program is based at the PEAS Farm and is an engaging opportunity for younger Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ to get involved with their local food system.

Prospective Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ should reach out to Caroline Stephens to inquire about volunteering at the PEAS Farm. Other community members are encouraged to reach out to Garden City Harvest and consider volunteering at the River Road Farm or Orchard Gardens Farm through their Volunteer for Veggies program.
