Third-Party Recruiter Policy
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) defines a third-party recruiter as an individual, agency, or organization that recruits candidates for temporary, part-time, or full-time employment opportunities for another organization. Third-Party Recruiters are expected to agree to these Third-Party Recruiter policies, ensure all staff understand and comply with these policies, and ensure open and accurate communication with UM Ñý¼§Ö±²¥.
Recruiters seeking to use Handshake in connection with UM will:
- Agree to and follow the Handshake .
- Provide complete job descriptions, clearly indicating that you are a Third-Party Recruiter.
- Provide the client names that the third-party recruiter is representing if asked by ELCS, and who will receive student information.
- Not download resumes or send direct messages to Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ and alumni who have not applied to a specific job opening.
- Agree that neither you nor your employer client will provide UM Ñý¼§Ö±²¥' resumes or candidate information to any other party without the student's consent.
- Follow EEO standards in the screening, recruiting, and referring of qualified applicants to employers without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Not permit outside services from bulk collecting student data, employer data, job descriptions, or other marketplace information through the use of automated scripts.
- Not require Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ to create an account on a third-party platform unaffiliated with the company or brand providing the employment role.
- Include contact information, including email address and telephone number, to provide a point of contact for UM staff and also be available on your public profile.
- Not charge Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ applicants for any services rendered.
- Provide applicants with copies of documents, including signed applications/agreements.
- Not prohibit, restrict or penalize applicants from accepting a job directly with a client company.
Third-party recruiters are welcome to post positions and may participate in information sessions, but may not be permitted to participate in other visibility programs.
