Dr. Catalina de Onís, Director
Welcome to the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR)! As a Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ alum (Communication Studies, 2011), who grew up in Bozeman, Catalina returns to Montana after living in Indiana, Colorado, and Oregon. Most recently, she worked as a professor and academic and thesis advisor in the University of Oregon’s Clark Honors College. Catalina’s interdisciplinary research and teaching focus on communication and social movements, using mixed methods. features several interdisciplinary, multilingual, and multimodal projects, ranging from book writing to documentary filmmaking.
At UM, Catalina collaborates with undergraduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ with a range of academic and personal interests. The Office of Undergraduate Research strives to support student scholarship using the Three C’s: 1) conceptualize a research or creative project idea; 2) carry out a project by joining conversations happening in labs, books, at off- and on-campus gatherings, in one’s personal life, and in many other places; and 3) communicate project observations, findings, and responses with various audiences.
