Community
Graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ play an essential role in the creative life of the school: they teach classes, run galleries, host lectures, and mount exhibitions. Because we are a small program, Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ work closely with our professors. Graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ are also integral to the greater Montana artistic community, sponsoring many events downtown Missoula and across the state.
On Campus
- There are two professional galleries on campus – the Gallery of Art and the University gallery. These professional beautiful galleries hos the Annual Student Exhibition, the MFA thesis exhibitions and Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ can send in a proposal to exhibit in these spaces, There are three student run spaces on campus, the Knowels Gallery and the Loft shaft in the Fine Arts Building and the Off-center Gallery in the Art Annex.

As part of professional practices, the graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ participate in the , and vibrant international exhibition. This exhibition is juried by Montana graduate student for graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ all over the world.

The School of Visual and Media Arts has a vibrant Visiting Artist program, bringing between 6-8 artist and critics to campus each year.'

Missoula
Nestled in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana, is a vibrant, growing community consistently highly ranked in quality-of-life indices. Missoula is surrounded by seven wilderness areas and at the confluence of three rivers, providing opportunities to kayak, canoe, raft, or tube through downtown, hike and bike through 60,000 acres of wilderness, with nearby skiing, snowboarding, and hot springs. Ñý¼§Ö±²¥’s outdoor recreation program provides economical equipment rentals, trips, and workshops. Missoula is bicycle and pedestrian friendly, pet friendly, and affordable, providing a welcoming community for learning exploration, cultural engagement, and outdoor adventures.
